Rescue of an old man behind Sannidhi Murugan Temple

Jaffna – An old man’s body has been recovered from the sea pond behind the Selvachannidhi Murugan Temple in Thondaimanar.

On Wednesday (11) morning, people who went swimming in the area informed the Valvettitura police that a dead body was floating.

Further investigation

Following this, the dead body of the old man was recovered from drowning.

It is suspected that the old man who came to the temple may have drowned while trying to swim in the river.

The Valvetti police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
