The wave hit China as violently as suddenly: the country is facing a spread of the Covid-19 epidemic that it had not seen since 2020. The end of the zero Covid policy does not is not the initial cause of this new culmination of contamination, but it strongly contributed to it, as explained by Simon Leplâtre, correspondent for Monde in Shanghai.

Hospitals are crowded, to the point of having patients wait outside or in reception halls. The crematoriums are overwhelmed and seem to show a speed of execution which shocked part of the population on social networks. The world authenticated some of these images to come back to this new wave of coronavirus.
