Chief Minister Stalin brought a separate resolution insisting that the central government should come forward to implement the Setu Samudra project. Speaking then, he said, “Sethu Samudra project was blocked due to political reasons”. In the resolution proposed by the Chief Minister, “The Setu Samudra Project is an essential project for strengthening the economic development of Tamil Nadu and the economic development of India. The Government of Tamil Nadu will extend all cooperation to implement the Setu Samudra Project.

The Union Minister has said that it is difficult to say what kind of construction was the stumbling block for the Setu Samudra project. “We consider the non-implementation of the Setu Samudra project as a hindrance to the development of Tamil Nadu,” the resolution said. Following this, the resolution urged the central government to “implement the Sethu Samudra Project”.

The Communist Party of India, Marxist Communist Party, Tamil Nadu Life Rights Party, Kongu Nadu People’s National Party, Madhyamik Party, and the Liberation Tigers Party have expressed their support for the resolution brought by the Chief Minister.
