Arrival of the fifth: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 – 16
He is Belgian, supports his brother, Vincent, in Seine-et-Marne, but is one of the best drivers in Cagnes-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes). He is Christophe Martens, who led Bordeaux S. (No. 1) to success in the prized Prix de la Côte d’Azur (Gr. III). Arm raised as he passed the post, he won with the less wealthy competitor in the event. “The horse was great, commented the winning driver a few moments after the race at Equidia’s microphone. As he got off to a good start, I had a golden career. He is nice and does everything that is asked of him. And this track is a bit like my garden (laughs)…”
Main animator, closely followed by the resident of Jean-Michel Bazire, Désir de Bannes (n° 4) had to be content with fourth place but confirms that he still has a good balance. He was overtaken by two big outsiders, namely Cagnoise d’Agon (#3) and Dottarus (n° 2), respectively second and third, these two having always appeared in the first part of a peloton of which no one could make the distance except Shard of Glory (#16). The resident of Loris Garcia managed the feat of appearing at the finish when he had to start fifty meters behind the first four at the end of a superb straight line.
