Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley, died Thursday, January 12, at the age of 54.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share devastating news: my dear daughter Lisa Marie has left us”confirmed, Thursday, January 12, his mother Priscilla Presley, in a press release sent to the site People.
The announcement came just hours after Priscilla Presley said her daughter was rushed to hospital in the morning. She had been placed in an artificial coma, under respiratory assistance, after a cardiac arrest, according to the people site TMZ, which relied on anonymous sources.
Mme Presley was « unconscious » when her governess discovered her at her home Thursday morning in Calabasas, an affluent suburb of Los Angeles, according to the TMZ site. Her ex-husband, Danny Keough, who also lives on the property, performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took her to hospital. Anonymous sources told TMZ that she did not attempt suicide.

“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known”described his mother in her statement, asking to respect the privacy of the family and thanking the fans for their “love and prayers”.
Lisa Marie Presley was Elvis’ only child. She previously controlled Elvis Presley Enterprises, but sold most of its shares to a private equity firm in 2005. Between 2003 and 2012, she released three albums in which she sang, and she is the actor’s mother Riley Keough, who starred in Mad Max : Fury Road.
She was seen with her mother on Tuesday at the Golden Globes ceremony, where Austin Butler received an award for his role in the biopic Elvis. The actor, whose larger-than-life incarnation of the rock’n’roll legend has been widely acclaimed, dedicated a word to the two women during his onstage speech.
“Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie and Priscilla, I love you forever”he launched.

Lisa Marie Presley had retained control of Graceland, the Memphis, Tennessee property owned by her father and where he was found unconscious, aged 42, in August 1977, before being taken to hospital and his death be attributed to a heart attack. His father’s toxicology reports revealed high levels of drugs in the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s system.
“It’s been my whole life”, she told the Associated Press in 2012, speaking of the influence of her father who disappeared when she was 9 years old. She was still at Graceland on January 8 to celebrate the King’s birthday.

One of his children, Benjamin Keough, committed suicide in 2020 at the age of 27. “I have dealt with death, grief and loss since I was 9 years old. I’ve experienced that more than anyone in my life and somehow I’ve managed to move on.”she then wrote in a text published by the magazine People.
