Jean Rottner, the president of the Grand Est region announced in December his resignation. The former mayor of Mulhouse had put forward “family imperatives” to justify his withdrawal from public life. This departure had surprised many people, including in the ranks of his majority. Ten days later, after this announcement, the elected officials learned that Jean Rottner was going to take over the management of the Grand Est branch of the consulting firm and real estate developer Réalités.
The anti-corruption association AC!! has just announced that it has sent a complaint against X, according to France Bleu, to the national financial prosecutor’s office for favoritism and illegal taking of interests. “For me, Jean Rottner is a very luxury sales representative, he is in this new place thanks to the springboard of the Grand Est region. I don’t see how he could have landed there in real estate as a doctor. I think an investigation is necessary, ”explains one of the members, Marcel Claude, to France Bleu Alsace.
Frank Leroy replaces him
The association pleads for the opening of an investigation to ensure that everything has been done according to the rules, in particular the remuneration of 5,000 euros per month paid for three years to Jean Rottner for consulting missions while he was president of the region.
This complaint is in addition to the more political approach of Laurent Jacobelli, president of the group of elected representatives of the National Rally in the Grand Est Region, who for his part seized the High Authority for the transparency of public life.
The new president of the Grand Est region was also elected this Friday morning during a plenary session in Metz. It was the first vice-president Frank Leroy, from the majority (LR, centrist and relatives) who won the ballot against Laurent Jacobelli, deputy National Rally of Moselle and spokesperson for the RN.
