Looking older than you are is not only detrimental to your self-image. It is also a harbinger of typical age-related ailments such as osteoporosis and cataracts. This is evident from Dutch research, published in the British Journal of Dermatology. “They sometimes say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul. But the skin has the same function. That is the mirror for internal skin aging,” says Professor Tamar Nijsten, dermatologist at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam.
