High Court will consider transfer to Kalamassery; The government found the place

Kochi: The Kerala High Court is examining the possibilities of shifting it to Kalamassery. The state government found 27 acres of land in Kalamassery following the High Court’s request. Government sources said the final decision on the change would be with the High Court Administrative Committee.

The government has identified 27 acres of land near Kalamassery HMT. Justice Muhammad Mushtaq of High Court, Chief Secretary Dr. VP Joy, Law Secretary V Hari Nair, District Collector Renu Raj and High Court Registrar General P Krishna Kumar personally arrived and inspected the spot.

The High Court had issued an official letter to the State Government regarding the land limitation in the High Court complex near Mangala Forest. The letter explained that the construction work is facing difficulties as it is an environmentally sensitive area. The letter also pointed out that the lawyers were facing difficulties in parking their vehicles.

In addition to the High Court, the government also aims to build institutions and systems at the international level, including a mediation center, in Kalamassery. In the event that the state government has identified the site, the High Court Administrative Committee will now take the final decision. The notification from the government sources said that after the decision of the committee, further action will be taken immediately.
