Rajshree failed to make it to the 16-member squad selected for the tournament.

Swain’s roommates said they saw her crying on Wednesday evening after the names of the team members were announced, and she disappeared from the hotel where she attended the training session soon after. Coach Pushpanjali Banerjee filed a complaint at the local Mangalabag police station in Cuttack city after Swain was not reached on the phone. Rajshree is also a right-arm fast bowler and middle-order batswoman.

The family alleged that it was a murder as they saw bruises on the body and damage to the eyes.
