Dubai: The UAE Minister has announced that the fines imposed on companies that do not employ citizens at a fixed rate in the country’s private companies will be increased by the end of the year. Human Resources and Emiratization Minister Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar told a media conference. By the end of this year, companies with 50 or more skilled employees must have four percent of their workforce from indigenous people. A fine of 84,000 dirhams per year will be imposed on each native who is not appointed by law. The fine will be increased every year. Al Awar said.

A fine of 400 million dirhams has already been imposed

It was announced yesterday that the Ministry of Human Resources and Indigenization has imposed a fine of Dh400 million on private companies that failed to meet their Emiratization targets by 2022. He also stated that about 9,293 companies have achieved the target by employing two percent of the natives.
Meanwhile, more than 7,000 companies have hired natives for the first time, said Dr. Al Awar said.

24000 natives will be given jobs this year

Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council Secretary Janakhal Ganm Al Masroui said that 76 percent of those hired through the Nafiz program, which was created to provide necessary services to those who get jobs as part of indigenization, have not worked in the private sector before. He added that by the end of 2023, it is expected that 24,000 jobs will be created for the natives in the private sector through the Emiratization project.

28700 natives have already entered the job

According to a report released by the Emirates News Agency, more than 28,700 UAE nationals have joined the private sector since the repatriation program was launched. At the same time, the number of beneficiaries of the financial assistance programs of the Nafees project, which was launched to support the project, reached 32,566. 1,300 students and women have enrolled in Nafees’ ‘National Health Care Programme’ and 643 in ‘Talent Programme’. According to the report, 7,017 companies have registered on the Nafees platform and 17,481 job vacancies have been posted through the site.
