A terrible plane crash has just taken place in Nepal. A plane with 72 people on board crashed on Sunday, said a spokesperson for Yeti Airlines, saying he did not know “if there are any survivors”.

“There are 68 passengers on board and four crew members… help is on the way,” Sudarshan Bartaula said. The plane crashed between the old and the new Pokhara airport in the center of the country.

The cabin is still on fire and rescuers are trying to put out the blaze, local official Gurudutta Dhakal said. The emergency services are “focused first on extinguishing the fire and rescuing the passengers”.
