Alappuzha: An ex-soldier and a one-and-a-half-year-old girl were found dead in a dam. Aryad Panchayat 7th Ward Sivakripail Gopan (51) and his brother-in-law’s daughter Mahalakshmi were found dead near Charamparamp jetty in Vembanatukayl on Sunday night around 10.45 pm.
Mahalakshmi is the daughter of Aryad Pothassery Anilkumar and Aswathi. Gopan and Anilkumar’s houses are next to each other. Gopan reached Anilkumar’s house around 6.30 pm and went out with Mahalakshmi. After not seeing him for a long time, the family started searching.
Mahalakshmi’s body was first spotted near the Charamparamba jetty around 10.45 pm. Later, Gopan’s body was found nearby. The preliminary conclusion of the police is that he may have slipped and fallen into the embankment.
Gopan is a veteran. Working in a private company in Ernakulam. Alappuzha North Police started investigation. Gopan’s wife: Jyotilakshmi. Children: Abhirami, Adarsh.
