108 acres of land in Jaffna’s Valigamam North Region will be released immediately, it has been announced in a discussion chaired by Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
A discussion regarding the release of occupied lands in the Northern Province was held at the Jaffna District Secretariat under the leadership of Ranil.
Meanwhile, it has been announced that 108 acres of land in various parts of Valigamam north of the land held by the army will be released immediately.
Do not build buildings
Meanwhile, it was also said that other lands will be released gradually. In that regard, it was urged to release the agricultural lands in the east of Palali Road.
It has also been informed that buildings should not be constructed in that area near Palali Airport.
Nagercoil area
However, Ranil Wickramasinghe said that after the representatives of the Tamil people insisted on releasing them for agricultural purposes, they would look into it.
