Parts of Joshimath city in Uttarakhand are sinking into the ground. Due to this, there are cracks in the houses, buildings and roads. While the reason for this has not been confirmed, the state government has advised the public to evacuate those areas.

Meanwhile, Swami Saraswati filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to declare the Joshimath Nagar disaster as a national calamity. In that petition, ‘There is no need to get any development at the cost of human lives and their environment. If something like that happens, it is the duty of the central and state governments to prevent it immediately on a wartime basis.

The current situation in Joshimath is due to large-scale industrial development activities. He demanded immediate financial assistance and compensation to the people of that area. In this situation, the hearing on this petition is scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court today.
