A powerful earthquake struck western Indonesia early Monday morning.

The 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck off western Indonesia in the early hours of the morning.

The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at a depth of 48 kilometers southeast of Sing, a coastal district in Axae province.

No loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far.

Indonesia is located on the “Ring of Fire” where tectonic plates rub against each other, making it prone to earthquakes.
