School Education Minister Anbil Mahes Poiyamozhi said that no holidays were announced for schools on Wednesday (January 18).
Pongal festival is being celebrated in Tamil Nadu for the last 2 days. On the occasion of Pongal festival, 15, 16, 17 have been given a holiday for schools and colleges. 15th Pongal, 16th Cattle Pongal and 17th Kannu Pongal are 3 days holiday.
Meanwhile, information spread that school and college holidays have been announced on 18th. In this case, School Education Minister Anbil Mahes Poiyamozhi said on Monday that there will be no holiday for schools on Wednesday, January 18.
He also said that the government has not taken a decision about giving a holiday on Wednesday after Pongal.
