China’s BYD has introduced a new electric sedan called ‘Seal’ as its 3rd model. BYD company said that this car with all wheel drive facility can go 700 kilometers on a single charge.
This car is capable of reaching 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. The company’s chairman said that this car will go on sale from Diwali 2023.
BYD SEAL Electric Car Design and Features:
The BYD Seal electric car is said to be made to compete with the ‘Tesla Model 3’ car globally. The car has front and rear crystal LED headlamps, LED DRLS, and Infinity LED tail light. A new technology called CTB (Cell to Body) has been used in this car.
Built on the e Platform 3.0 architecture, the Drag Coefficient of this car is very low. That means there is only 0.219Cd. It also has an axle load distribution ratio of 50 : 50, the company said.

Battery Features:
Overseas, the e-Platform 3.0 battery is available in two options. One is 61.4KWH and the other is 82.5KWH. Its first battery option (61.4KWH) has a range of 550 kilometers and the larger battery (82.5KWH) option has a range of 700 kilometers. Being a premium electric sedan, the ex-showroom price is expected to be between Rs 65 lakh and Rs 70 lakh.
The car will compete with electric cars like Kia EV6 and BMW i4. BYD’s recently launched premium electric SUV BYD ATTO 3 now has a new color option called ‘Forest Green’. The company added that only 1,200 units of this model will be sold in India.
