Benoni: India won the Under-19 Women’s Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa for the second time. India defeated UAE by 122 runs in the last match. UAE managed to score only 97 runs for the loss of five wickets against India, who scored 219 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs due to captain Shafali Verma and Shweta Sehrawat.

Shafali scored 78 runs off 34 balls including four sixes and 12 fours. Shweta remained unbeaten on 74 off 49 balls with 10 boundaries. The duo put on a partnership of 111 runs off 51 balls in the opening match. Richa Ghosh, who scored 49 runs off 29 balls including two sixes and five fours, also shone for India.
