LE SCAN SPORT – Seeded N.13, the American Danielle Collins celebrated at 7-3 in the tie-break of the third set when she needed to reach 10 points to win.
Grand Slam tournaments sometimes have special rules, Danielle Collins learned the hard way this Wednesday. Opposed to the Czech Karolina Muchova in the second round of the Australian Open, the American, seeded N.13, forgot that the third set tie-break was actually a super tie-break.
At 7-3 for her, Collins threw her racquet to the ground and began her celebration, arms raised, before realizing that no one was flinching. The referee finally explained to her that she had to reach 10 to win. What she will end up doing, a few minutes later.
