A mayday was declared on a Qantas flight from New Zealand to Sydney due to engine failure. This created a lot of tension among the airport staff.
Qantas 144 from Auckland to Sydney on Wednesday at 2:30pm The flight took off. Shortly after take-off, it was discovered that one of the plane’s 2 engines had malfunctioned. A Mayday was immediately declared to Sydney Airport and the status of the aircraft was informed.
