Björn Ulvaeus also wants to bring the Abba show from London to Singapore and Las Vegas. However, no new titles are planned.

After the success of “Abba Voyage” in London, the spectacular show by the Swedish pop group (“Dancing Queen”, “Waterloo”) will also be staged in other parts of the world. “We’re looking at one location in North America and one in Southeast Asia,” Abba founder Björn Ulvaeus said in London, “and those two locations will be Las Vegas and Singapore.”
Hope for extension in London
The concert event, for which a separate arena was built, has been on show in London since May last year. The Abba members Björn, Benny, Agnetha and Frida are not on stage themselves in the show, but fully animated, digitally rejuvenated versions of the quartet that look deceptively real. The “Abba-tare” are accompanied by a ten-piece live band, the singing comes from the tape.
According to Ulvaeus, the lease for the site with the City of London is for four and a half years. However, the Swede hopes that “Abba Voyage” will continue in the British capital afterwards. “If we become an attraction, one of the things you do in London, like Madame Tussaud’s, then hopefully they’ll let us stay longer.” Over time, the show will be changed a little and songs will be exchanged.
Interest in old songs increased
With the start of the Abba show and the release of the first studio album in 40 years, interest in the old songs increased again. “It makes a difference, you can see that with the streaming services. The numbers are going up,” says Ulvaeus, who expressed his surprise that Abba’s music is still popular after several decades. “It’s so unlikely that a group like us is still relevant today. It never ceases to amaze me.”
However, he ruled out further new music by Abba. “It was the last album,” assured the musician. Showing “Abba Voyage” in places other than Las Vegas and Singapore is also not planned for the time being. dpa
