According to the researchers, between 2001 and 2011, temperatures increased by an average of 1.5 degrees Celsius over the previous century.
Its conclusion attributed the recent temperature rise in Greenland to human-caused global warming.
“Greenland is currently the largest contributor to sea level rise,” said Maria Horholt, lead author of the study and a member of the Alfred Wegener Institute.
And if we continue with similar carbon emissions, Greenland will contribute up to 50 centimeters of sea level rise by 2100. And it will affect lakhs of people living in coastal areas, he said.
