“Everywhere, shipments have been suspended,” according to Eric Sellini, the union’s national coordinator for TotalEnergies.

The strike movement against the pension reform is followed by 70 to 100% of strikers in most of the refineries of the TotalEnergies group, the group’s CGT said on Thursday. “Everywhere, shipments have been suspended“, told AFP Éric Sellini, national coordinator of the union for TotalEnergies.

According to a first point from the CGT, there were 100% strikers in the morning shifts for the La Mède bio-refinery, the Flandres fuel depot, near Dunkirk, and the Carling petrochemical plant (Moselle) . The Donges refinery (Loire-Atlantique) had 95% strikers and that of Normandy 80%, while the teams at the Feyzin refinery (Rhône) were on strike at more than 70%, according to Éric Sellini. “Nothing goes in or outof these facilities, assured the trade unionist. He had no figures, however, for the site of Grandpuits, in Seine-et-Marne. “It’s a movement that is well followed, it gives momentum, strength and courage for the future“, told AFP Benjamin Tange, CGT union official at the Flanders depot, before going to march against the pension reform in Dunkirk.

The mobilization of day staff, i.e. all support and administrative functions, “also looks important“, according to Benjamin Tange. On the Esso-ExxonMobil side, the Fos-sur-Mer refinery (Bouches-du-Rhône) had 100% strikers among the morning shifts, while there were no strikers at the Gravenchon refinery (Seine- Maritime), according to the CGT.
