Education Minister Chris Hipkins single candidate to succeed Jacinda Ardern – New Zealand

Wellington – In New Zealand, there are signs that Minister for Police, Education and Public Services Chris Hipkins will succeed Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. The Labor Party announced on Saturday that he was the only candidate for the post of head of state and party leadership. He is expected to be confirmed as the new party leader by 64 Labor MPs on Sunday. The 44-year-old Hipkins had made a name for himself in fighting the coronavirus pandemic. He has been a Member of Parliament since 2008.
