Beautiful, party and rhythmic: the great combination between Ofer Nissim and Tamir Greenberg

Elin Golan continues to progress, slowly and surely, in her musical career and this week released “All Night”, a song composed for her by Rotem Chen and Ofir Malol. It is evident that Golan very much wants to find her artistic being, to cultivate her own DNA and is working hard on it. This can be seen in the difference between her first song “I have no power” and the current song, as the immature song slowly wears out more and more, the inaccuracies in the song diminish and the confidence Shegolan gains a lot throughout the song.

On the face of it, “All Night” is a standard, contemporary, fun pop song tailored to Golan’s vocal abilities. I don’t think the song is good enough, in terms of its lyrics and melody, to become a breakout hit for her, but when it comes to an artist who wants to make a breakthrough, and Golan, from what I’ve been impressed by in her interviews and performances, wants to make a breakthrough and isn’t looking for the instant breakthrough – it’s a song she can definitely be proud of being signed to and especially in its development.

Her choice to work with a different music producer is excellent in my opinion for the reason that she can challenge herself vocally every time anew, not fall into a formula or a niche (even when it comes to “standard” pop) and above all rub herself in the jungle called the music industry.

Itai Levy moved this week with the song he dedicated to his mother, “Sometimes”, a quiet and touching ballad that brings out his best vocal qualities. The stanzas are not so catchy and the episodes are boring, but the touching and excellent text makes up for it, as well as the developing chorus and especially the performance present an excellent ballad that with Levi’s personal story, it is impossible not to shed a tear. The sincerity and totality with which he performed the song is clear and prominent throughout and fully utilizes its potential.

Ninet Taib, who releases songs at her own pace, this week embraced “What will happen to you”, a kicking and personal rock song that she wrote and composed herself, in a musical production with an international flavor and a rough performance that quite restores the interest in Israeli rock, which has been relatively pushed to the margins in recent years, and proves that blue and white rock in Israel of 2023 can be mainstream, fun and addictive.

Ofer Nissim and Tamir Greenberg had a surprising connection in the song they created together – “Our Love”, which combines classical music, electronic music, dance and a lot of soul and rhythm and blues, when the combination of the two different worlds of the two weaves something new, beautiful, party and rhythmic.

It’s not a song to listen to on the way or while walking, but mainly a song to dance in clubs and parties, and that’s what it’s meant for. Qualified for in-depth listening, it doesn’t deliver the goods, unless the two release a shortened version of it, but right now – it’s mostly a field song and it’s great for that.

Listen: Vared Moshkovski – “I don’t have time for parties”

An excellent song about maturity, about looking at life, about changes, accepting them, about the difficulty and the best of them, written and composed by the talented Moshkovski who performs her autobiography (or at least parts of it) in a clear and special voice, with a captivating melody and a text that is easy to identify with, no matter which station in life you are at.
