Time.news – The French maison Chanel has chosen the United States again to present the new Cruise 2023/2024 collection on May 9, 2023. The choice, as announced in a press release released by the fashion house, fell on California and Los Angeles, sixteen years after the Cruise 2007/08 show that Karl Lagerfeld, then creative director of the maison, had imagined inside the Santa Monica Airport.
Again the United States was chosen by Chanel last November for the replica fashion show of the Cruise (2022/2023) which after the show in May in Monte Carlo arrived in Florida in Miami on the beach of the Faena Hotel in Miami Beach, celebrating the link established in the 1920s between the maison and America.
The relationship between Chanel and the United States is in fact long-standing. Madame Coco already in 1919 had created a mid-season collection that was cited by American Vogue designed for women who loved freedom of movement.
Gabrielle Chanel herself made her first trip to the United States in 1931, invited to Hollywood by the famous film producer Samuel Goldwyn who wanted the dressmaker to create clothes for her actresses to wear on and off the set. This relationship was therefore consecrated in 1957 when the fashion designer who marked the style of the 20th century received the prestigious Neiman Marcus Fashion Award in Dallas.
