A 32-year-old woman was waiting for a train at night with her 2-year-old son at Sambal railway station in Uttar Pradesh. He had got a ticket to board the train in a general compartment (unreserved compartment). At that time, a ticket inspector named Raju Singh, who was known to the woman, came there. He said to the woman, “Why are you getting into a public box alone, where you don’t even get a seat. Come with me, I will arrange a seat in AC train coach” said AC. He took it to the box. They traveled on the Link Express train.
She had known the ticket inspector for four years. So he went with him because he called. In no time DC Raju Singh and another friend of his came there and gave the woman their water. The woman also drank the water. But shortly after drinking it, the woman fainted. Immediately after shifting her 2-year-old son, who was sleeping with the woman, to the next bed, the two men gang-raped the woman.
The woman tried to scream in a semi-conscious state. But he couldn’t. Both committed gang rape and escaped. The next morning she went to her destination. He did not tell anyone about the incident. The woman told her husband about the incident when she reached her hometown after going to the destination. Immediately they reported this through railway helpline. Then they also complained in writing against the railway ticket inspector.
Railway Police SP Aparna Gupta immediately took a statement from the victim. He also informed the higher officials of the railway about this. Based on this, the Government Railway Police raided Raju Singh’s house and arrested him. He was also suspended from duty. They are investigating who sexually assaulted the woman along with him. A railway ticket inspector sexually assaulted a woman who was traveling in a train, shocking everyone.
