Foreign Minister Yair Lapid took off tonight (Sunday) for the British capital, ahead of a three-day visit to Europe, which will focus for the most part on the issue that concerns Israel’s political elite these days: the return of the powers to direct negotiations with Iran over the Iranian nuclear issue.

Tomorrow morning, Israel’s Foreign Minister will meet with British Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Trass, and at the end of the meeting there will be mutual signatures.

In the afternoon, the alternate prime minister will meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, at the end of which the two will make a joint statement. Later, Lapid and Johnson will also meet at his official residence, at 10 Downing Street, and light Hanukkah candles with him.

The visit will be signed on Tuesday afternoon, when the foreign minister will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, to which he will travel directly from London during Monday night.

The three meetings, as mentioned, will focus on negotiations between the powers and Iran, which will begin tomorrow in Vienna, the capital of Austria. Israel is pressuring European countries to put pressure on the United States not to pursue an interim agreement or other concession agreement.

Initially, an extensive delegation of political advisers was planned to meet with Foreign Minister Lapid to meet with the lower echelons of the two European powers, but due to the outbreak of the new corona strain, omicron, and changes in guidelines, the delegation was reduced to only major events.
