To denounce the soaring prices, at the call of the Collective for the Survival of Bakers and Crafts, angry bakers parade this Monday in Paris. A procession set off at 2 p.m. from Place de la Nation.
“We, what we are asking for, is the tariff shield for all”, claimed Frédéric Roy, the co-founder of the collective on Sud Radio this Monday. “There have been significant increases in the cost of raw materials since September, electricity bills have already closed craftsmen, in the short or medium-long term, this will close the most fragile. It has already started,” he recalled.
His collective calls for the application of the price shield for all craftsmen to limit the increase in prices to 15%, as for individuals.
This mobilization is not unanimous among bakers. Dominique Anract, president of the National Confederation of French Bakery and Pastry (CNBPF), does not call for example to demonstrate on Monday. “My position is that we are in negotiations. (…) These collectives are asking for the tariff shield. It is not possible, as explained to me by Olivia Grégoire and Bruno Le Maire. However, we demonstrate when we are not listened to. And today, everyone is mobilized, ”he said in an interview with Ouest-France.
