A child was found physically abused and punched three times in the face.

The accused was taken into custody and referred to court for completion of trial proceedings. The trial was completed the other day and the judgment was pronounced. According to the report, the Public Prosecution has appealed against the verdict and asked for a more severe punishment for the perpetrator in view of the brutality of the crimes against children.

Protecting newborn babies from crime is one of the guarantees mandated by Islamic Sharia and the law of the land. The law allows newborns to be afforded all their health, social and safety rights.
