Hosur: The beautification of the polluted pond in Hosur has been started at a cost of Rs 20.50 lakh.
The pond in Kalekunda area under 26th Ward of Hosur Corporation is not properly maintained and the water is polluted with plastic waste and stinks. The residents of the area demanded that the Dwarwari should clean this well, which was meeting the drinking water needs of the public in the past.
Subsequently, 20.50 lakh rupees were allocated from the general fund of the Corporation to drain the water in the puddle and clean the durwari, to construct a fence and steps around the puddle and a paver block road. Shilpa Sivakumar, the councilor of that ward, inaugurated this work by performing Bhumi Pooja yesterday. ADMK, Regional Secretary Raji, District Representative Lakshmanan, Naga, Mubarak and many others participated.
