Dozens of security prisoners were sent to solitary confinement

Following expressions of joy after the massacre attack near the Neve Yaakov Synagogue in Jerusalem, the prison service acted tonight (between Friday and Saturday) against prisoners in security prisons throughout the country. According to Shavas, dozens of security prisoners were placed in solitary confinement as punishment, particularly in Ofer, Megiddo, Damon, Katziot and Nitzan prisons.

The Security Service also stated that in a number of security prisons, security prisoners expressed joy in the form of chants and applause regarding the attack. All the prisoners involved were punished in solitary confinement and in several units raids were conducted into wings and general searches.

According to Palestinian reports, late at night the Israeli Security Service placed several dozen prisoners in solitary confinement in Megiddo prison, as part of an activity that included throwing tear gas and searching the prisoners’ personal containers. According to the report, the Israeli Security Service intends to transfer the isolated prisoners to other prisons.
