The inaugural Women’s Junior 20 Over Cricket World Cup (Under 19) is underway in South Africa. India-New Zealand teams clashed in the first semi-final match held yesterday in Potcepstroom.

Rolled out on 101 runs…

Shabali Verma, captain of the Indian team won the toss and chose to field. After that, the New Zealand team, who batted first, was unable to attack the Indian players’ tremendous bowling. The team was restricted to 107 for 9 in 20 overs. Georgia Philmer scored 35 runs and Isabella scored 26 runs. Australia, who bowled later, could not take even this simple target. The team was bundled out for 96 runs in 18.4 overs. Thus the England team won by 3 runs and entered the final. England spinner Hannah Bagher shone as the hero of the match with 3 wickets. India-England will clash in the final today (Sunday).
