Despite the murderous attack in Neve Yaakov in which 7 Israelis were murdered and the attack in the Old City in which an IDF officer was injured, the left-wing demonstration against the government will take place as planned, and the organizers will add a minute of silence at its opening.
The headquarters of the struggle said: “Last night’s murderous attack in Jerusalem is heartbreaking. We share in the pain and grief of the families of the murdered and wish for the recovery of the injured. Tonight there will be protest events against the coup d’état on Kaplan St. (starting at 19:00) and around the country in a special format. Even in these difficult days, we have the duty to fight for Israeli democracy, against a dangerous, cynical and irresponsible government.
The events will begin at 19:00 with a minute of silence and will be held in a different format, without music and while participating in the pain of the families of the murdered. may them rest in peace”.
Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai decided to cancel his participation in the demonstration, and former Police Commissioner Roni Alsheich also issued a similar announcement.
