Indians are the masters of Kabaddi. Kabaddi was born in India in ancient times and later spread to Asian countries and international level. Kabaddi is played in many countries with variations in form, style and rules. Sadugudu, Kaudi, Pakada, Ha Du Du, Hu Tu Tu, Himoshika has many names but the first one is our Kabaddi.
Even when cricket, football, tennis and golf are breaking the arena, Kabaddi is a sport that UAE does not give up. Now the UAE is entering the kabaddi field as well. The Ultra Kabaddi League, hosted by the UAE for the first time, will be staged in Dubai. The league is run by Spotify in association with the Dubai Sports Council. The program was launched in June in Dubai.
A ‘pro’ version of Kabari, which is staged in Indian villages, will also take place in Dubai. Eight teams will participate. Teams will pick up big players at the Dubai auction in April. Eight teams will participate. Each team will have 14 players. 32 matches will be played in 20 days. The fixture will be all teams against each other. 112 players including players from various national teams will be lined up.
Most of the stars will be from Asia. Many players will get a chance from India, the land of Kabaddi. Stars from other countries including UAE will also participate. The UAE league will also be held on the model of the Pro Kabaddi League held in India. The names of the teams are yet to be decided. More information and sponsor names will be released in the coming days. It will be televised internationally.
