by time news

Frankfurt – 22 climate chaos occupied the Fechenheim forest for two years, built tree houses out of bulky waste, and fought for two and a half days in January against the eviction. High fines, clean-up costs, etc.

Up to 1,000 police officers, a 300-ton crane and six cherry pickers were deployed. And that’s not all: the Autobahn GmbH had to build a metal fortress especially so that the construction machines would not be damaged by the climate chaos. None of this would have been necessary without the squatters and protesters.

Fines, legal fees, garbage disposal

Every squatter who had to be carried out of the forest faces a fine for trespassing. Because the 2.7 hectare cleared area plus the 4.9 hectare additional security zone were officially approved restricted areas.

That is why the climate chaos and their supporters marched through the city center on Saturday – dressed in black and masked – loudly chanting: “We are angry! Every eviction has consequences.”
