Fuel prices: the rise continues, the liter of diesel and unleaded is approaching 2 euros

It is a slow, but inexorable ascent. Fuel prices continue to climb, four weeks after the end of the government boost of 10 cents. Last week, the liter of diesel, by far the most consumed fuel in France, averaged 1.94 euros, an increase of 2.7 cents compared to the previous week, according to figures. published by the Ministry of Ecological and Energy Transition, this Monday, January 30. The increase is even more pronounced for the Super SP95 – E10: motorists had to pay an average of 1.91 euros per liter last week (+ 3.6 cents).

The prices are a little closer to the symbolic bar of 2 euros per litre, knowing that the statistics issued by the ministry constitute averages which have already been exceeded in certain territories.

The rise in prices continues while the aid devices at the pump are now targeted. Exit the government aid which had reached 20 cents per liter until the end of the summer for all motorists before falling by half and extinguishing on December 31. On January 1, there is a fuel check in the amount of 100 euros, paid in one go to the most modest households.

Note that E85 superethanol is also continuing to surge and is stabilizing above one euro per litre. Bad news for this fuel says purchasing power, for a long time half the price of unleaded.
