Barça will make it more difficult to sell season tickets in matches declared high risk

by time news

BarcelonaThe vice-president of Barça Elena Fort has presented the club’s shock plan for the declared high-risk matches – determined by state authorities – and, especially, for the first leg of the round of 16 of the Europa League against Manchester United which will be played on February 16 (6:45 p.m.). With the painful precedent of Eintracht Frankfurt, with more than 30,000 German fans populating and painting the Camp Nou white, Fort has announced new measures. The English team has a large mass of loyal fans and, in addition, the date of the match coincides with holiday dates in England, as the Blaugrana management has warned.

The main innovation affects the transfer of season tickets. To guarantee its traceability, the vice-president has informed that when a seasoned member transfers his season ticket to a third party, he must fill out a form (with the name, surname and ID) informing the club to whom he is transferring it. And, in the same way, the beneficiary – whether a direct family member or not – must bring this form (printed or digitally) and their ID on the day of the match to access the stadium. “We know that this changes the culture of season ticket sales at the Camp Nou, but we want to avoid another scenario like the one at Eintracht. We are convinced that with the measures they are implementing it is almost impossible for it to happen again,” he Rivet Strong

If stadium security requires the form and ID and they are not provided, the vice-president has made it clear that access to the Camp Nou will not be allowed. When the tickets for the match go on sale, this Monday or, at the latest, this Tuesday, the season ticket transfer form will already be available on the club’s website. The procedure will have two necessary steps: the member making the transfer will have to communicate it to the entity using the form, and the beneficiary will also have to fill it in and bring it on the day of the match.

The club wants to guarantee the monitoring of the transfer of season tickets and, therefore, checks will be made before entering the stadium, but they will be random. This is in addition to a measure that had already been implemented this year, such as the QR code on season tickets. The sale of tickets will also be nominal, another measure that had already been applied.

More measures implemented by Barça

In addition, Fort has announced that measures that were already applied against Eintracht Frankfurt will be repeated, although the fans of the German club managed to avoid them last season. This is to block the sale of tickets to IPs from England, as well as to bank accounts domiciled in the same country. Blaugrana members resident in England, however, will not have these restrictions. Fort has also announced other developments related to the visit of Manchester United on February 16. There will be constant notices on the online purchase platforms that rival fans cannot buy tickets in the local area of the stands, nor wear the clothing of the rival team if it is not in the zone enabled for visiting fans.

The physical purchase of tickets will not be possible until the day of the match: the ticket offices will be closed the days before. Members can only buy a maximum of four tickets per card and not six, as before. There will also be no children’s tickets or passports and the club has limited the tickets it has made available to tour operators to 1,000. “They will be nominal and access will be controlled,” specified Fort. The vice-president also explained that access to the stadium will open two hours before the game and that the club is working with the City Council to facilitate the arrival of fans at Camp Nou.
