Israeli pride: The ranking of the 50 best restaurants in the Middle East and Africa was published this evening (Monday) at a ceremony held in Dubai. The ranking is sponsored by “San Pellegrino”, for the second year in a row. Among the 50 selected restaurants, six were chosen, headed by Israelis.

The “Havasta” restaurant reached the 48th place, while “Melgo and Melber” by chef Moti Titman, finished in the 40th place. Yuval Ben Naria, his first appearance on the list, finished in 24th place, but seemed somewhat disappointed.

Chef Raz Rahab and the “ocd” restaurant, went down compared to the previous ranking, finishing in 14th place. However, he won the “Sustainability” award – an award given to a restaurant that knows how to use all raw materials in the most correct and sustainable way, in a way that utilizes them correctly and without waste.

The highest place among the Israelis was reached by chef Tomer Tal from the George and John restaurant, who finished in sixth place. “Wow, what an evening, I’m at the height of excitement. I’m all hot and burning, it’s the best thing that’s happened to me. I’m so excited right now that I can hardly speak. I’m so happy to be the ambassador of Israel and to represent the country here in Abu Dhabi,” said Tal.
