Up to Rs.2 per kilometer; Toll on Mysuru-Bengaluru 10 lane road from next month

BemThe first phase of toll collection on the Galur-Mysuru 10-lane expressway will begin from February 15. Toll will be charged first on the Bengaluru-Nidaghata section. Toll collection will be introduced later on the Nidaghata to Mysore section. Information about starting toll collection Mysuru M.P. Pratapasimha informed on Monday.

There are total three toll booths on the road. However, National Highways Authority of India officials informed that the toll will be collected from two toll booths. The first toll booth was at Ganaguru near Srirangapatna on the Mysuru-Nidaghata section. It is at Kaniminike near Bidadi on the Bengaluru-Nidaghata side

Second and third toll booths are set up. Each toll booth will have 11 gates. A sophisticated toll collection system has been introduced. There will also be a FASTag system. Meanwhile, the toll rate is yet to be fixed. National Highway Authority officials said that the toll rate will be decided only after calculating the total project cost and the number of vehicles per day.

As per National Highway Authority norms, the average toll rate is Rs.1.5 to Rs.2 per km. Also, the number of lanes, bridges and underpasses on the road is also the basis for determining the toll rate, officials said. The route consists of nine major bridges, 42 minor bridges, 64 underpasses, 11 flyovers and five bypasses.
