Born in Tarapuram in 1933, Nagesh completed his college studies in Coimbatore and worked in the railway sector. Nagesh was fond of acting since childhood and used to act in amateur plays.
He made his debut in the film industry in 1959 with the film Thamaraikulam.
He rose to fame with his role as a young aspiring film director in the film No Time for Love.
Sarwar Sundram was a turning point in Nagesh’s film career as he adopted a new style of dancing.
He played the lead role in Balachandar’s Neerkumizhi and squeezed out the tragic juice.
Sivaji replaced Ganesan by playing Dharumi in Thiruvilayadal.Dillana Mohanampal made her mark by playing the role of Vaidi in the film.
In 1990, Michael acted alongside Kamal in the film Madana Kamarajan.
