Vasantha Mudali himself acquitted of terrorism charges – Unlawful evidence presented – Judge informs!

Vasantha Mudalike, convener of the Inter-University Student Union, who was arrested and detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, was released today.

He was acquitted by the Colombo District Chief Magistrate Court.

Chief Justice Prasanna Alvis said that the charges framed under the Prevention of Terrorism Act are not applicable to Vasantha Mudalike.

At the same time, the judge further said that the prosecution has submitted evidence that contradicts the provisions of the Prohibition of Terrorism Act.
