“Auftragstaktik”: The dawn of “mission-oriented command”?.- Luis Alberto González Mayoral

Mission-oriented command is a philosophy originating in the German Army at the end of the 19th century with which it seeks to anticipate the challenges that appear in the 21st century for the exercise of command.

Its adoption as a model has suffered multiple vicissitudes and has not always been enthusiastically received, preferring, on occasions, command models based on control and meticulous management.

The circumstances of its origin and the successive adaptations it has undergone during those 150 years have given rise to practical results in the field of organization, the generation of troops or the procedures that can be taken as a guide for the future both in its avoidance and in your follow up.
