A lot of years have passed… but Kunji Moiteenkutty went to Chitra with great enthusiasm. Kottaikkal Kunhimoithinkutty was the lyricist. As part of the foundation day celebration of Kottaikkal Aryavaidyasala, K. S. Both of them met when they reached Chitra Kailasamandira. Then, they rekindled their friendship by recalling the memories of the song written by Kunhimoiteenkutty 36 years ago.
K.S. The lyrics for the song sung by Chitra were written by Kunju Moiteenkutty. One of the best longing songs of all time in Malayalam is ‘Ila Pojyum Sishiramthal Cherukilikal Varavaai’ sung by Yesudas in this movie. Even those who have not seen the movie are familiar with this song. Out of the four songs in the film, the female version of the song Ila Pojyum Sishirathil and two songs beginning with ‘Ananda Poomute’ were sung by Kunhimoitheenkutty in the film. Mohan Sithara was the music director of the film. Along with the movie being a hit, the film’s song was also very popular.
U.A. Kunhimoithinkutty was Biran’s Additional Private Secretary when he was the Food and Civil Supplies Minister. His lines, written while sleeping in the midst of busy work in Thiruvananthapuram, are etched in the hearts of many people. Kunjimoithinkutty also penned lyrics for Tarangini album. Even though many years have passed, he is all set to return to the singing ways again.
