ABU DHABI ∙ Authorities have advised not to respond to SMS and phone calls from scammers claiming to be from the Ministry of Interior. The Ministry of Home Affairs also warned against phone scams to update their information on the Ministry’s website. UAE residents have been advised to be vigilant against digital scams and phone scams.

Be extra cautious about suspicious messages, phone calls or SMS messages with one-time password (OTP) from unknown persons claiming to be from the ministry. The ministry and authorities have reiterated that they will never ask people to update their details through SMS messages.
The public has been asked to be extra vigilant against suspicious calls and SMS messages to avoid falling prey to such crimes.
