A nurse who was working at Kottayam Medical College Hospital died last month after eating adulterated food in a canteen in the hospital premises.

After this incident, the state government has imposed various restrictions on restaurants, food preparation and distribution companies.

According to this, all the employees in the food related industry, including restaurants, food cooking companies, companies that cook for special occasions, have been ordered to have a medical certificate of no infectious disease and no external injuries on the body.

The health department has warned that strict action will be taken against violators.
