A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said: “The Prime Minister has visited the residence, which is a building for the preservation and an official property of the state, for a short tour, in order to stand on the progress of the residence preparation process for use. In order to advance the process and begin the use of the residence hall according to his needs, the Prime Minister instructed the Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office, Yair Pines, to expedite the proceedings as much as possible.

“The Prime Minister spoke with the relevant professionals and reviewed the renovation plans, which focuses on safety, infrastructure and security aspects, in accordance with the requirements of the security agencies, and instructed to shorten the schedules so that the renovation, which will be completed by the end of 2022, will be completed.”

It will be recalled that the previous prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, lived in the house for about 12 years in a row, and left the official residence about a month after the formation of the government. Bennett has decided to stay in his private home in Raanana, and even if he moves next year, it will be for a very short period, because his tenure ends in a year and a half.
