Janja poked Bolsonaristas after Marinho’s defeat in the Senate

The first lady, Rosângela da Silva, celebrated the victory of senator Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), re-elected for the presidency of the Senate this Tuesday (1st). In a live, Janja recalled the attacks in Brasilia and took the opportunity to poke Bolsonaristas.

Janja pointed out that the group allied with former president Jair Bolsonaro suffered yet another defeat. She referred to Bolsonaro’s support for former Minister of Regional Development Rogério Marinho (PL-RN).

“We went down the ramp and then I think we erased a little of what was the image of what they did on Sunday, when President Lula, arm in arm with the president of the STF, with the president of the National Congress, Rodrigo Pacheco – who just won the election, we just received the information here. Amen. Another defeat for them”, he said.

Pacheco was re-elected president of the Senate and the National Congress by 49 votes to 32 of his opponent. This will be the senator’s second biennium in charge of the House.

To guarantee the ally’s victory, Lula promised to give up second- and third-rank positions at the Planalto Palace. The PT summit sees in Pacheco the chance to form a majority in the House.

Board of Directors

During negotiations for the presidency of the Senate, Pacheco and his allies articulated the positions on the board of directors similar to the current management. Veneziano Vital do Rêgo (MDB-PB) should remain in the 1st vice-presidency, while Rogério Carvalho (PT-SE) will be the 1st secretary.

The commissions are still under debate. The main articulator of Pacheco’s campaign, Senator Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP) wants the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ), the main committee of the House. The nomination caused senators to distance themselves from Pacheco, which forced the senator to reopen negotiations for the seat.

The Economic Affairs Commission (CAE) is one of the commissions that already has a defined appointment. The command of the commission should remain with the PSD, which has the largest bench in the House, with 16 senators.

The main dispute is in the Foreign Relations Committee (CRE). In the articulation, Pacheco promised the commission to Renan Calheiros’ group (MDB-AL), but the PSD and PT themselves are keeping an eye on the command of the commission.
