The eighteenth round of the Portuguese first division football championship took place this Wednesday, February 1st. SL Benfica, Sporting CP and FC Porto won, while Sporting de Braga lost.
SL Benfica won by 0-3 in the trip to Aroucain a game counting for the 18th round of the Portuguese first division football championship.
The eagles’ goals were scored by Portuguese midfielder João Mário, who scored twice, and by Croatian striker Petar Musa.
The reds lead the Portuguese league with 50 points after the eighteenth round. This was Benfica’s 16th triumph in this 2022/2023 season.
It should be remembered that on the 17th round, Benfica won by 0-3 in the trip to the Santa Clara ground, and the reds also won in the early game of the 20th round by 0-2 in the trip to the Paços de Ferreira ground.
As for FC Porto, holder of the title of champion, now occupies the second placeeight points behind the leader, this after the 0-2 triumph in the trip to Marítimo’s field. The goals were scored by Brazilians Wendell and Wenderson Galeno.
Remember that in the 17th round, the dragons won by 0-1 in the trip to Vitória de Guimarães.
With regard to Sporting de Braga is now in 3rd place with 40 points, after the 5-0 loss to Sporting Clube de Portugal.
The goals scored by the Sporting fans were scored by the Japanese Hidemasa Morita, who scored twice, the British Marcus Edwards, the Brazilian Matheus Reis, and the Portuguese Pedro Gonçalves.
Sporting Clube de Portugal is in 4th place with 35 points.
Remember that on the 17th day, Braga won by 1-2 in the trip to Paços de Ferreira, while the sporting fans defeated Vizela by 2-1.
The next journey will take place from the 4th to the 6th of February.
