Alireza Heidari, a 29-year-old Iranian national, was arrested last week by the Texas Department of Public Safety in the United States, while conducting a traffic stop and looking for illegal immigrant smugglers. This is what American media reports in the last day.
Heidari was smuggled in a car along with four other illegal immigrants, and was found in the trunk. After he was arrested, it was found that his information existed in the FBI’s wanted system in the area of terrorism, which was called to intervene in his investigation.
A former senior official at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council said that the number of illegal immigrants who manage to enter the US in recent years, mainly through the southern border, should frighten and discourage every American citizen.
National Security Council President Brandon Judd said that without the faithful work of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Heidari would be roaming the streets freely, and is a danger to the safety of US citizens. There has not yet been an official response from the FBI regarding Heidari’s investigation.
